This year, in addition to taking part in the Relay for Life event itself, we’ll also have a booth at the NEA Flea Market hosted by KFIN. We’ll be selling items donated by members and the public with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

The NEA Fair Market will be on Saturday, May 30th at the NEA District Fairgrounds (map).

This year alone, Jaycees across America have raised more than $90,000. Let’s see what we can do about increasing that amount!

You can also use that page to purchase a Luminaria in honor of or in memory of a loved one who has overcome cancer, is still battling cancer, or has lost their battle with cancer. If you would prefer, you can download the Luminaria Order Form and mail it in along with your payment.

Happy Cinco de Mayo. According to Wikipedia, a UCLA paper on the origins of the Cinco de Mayo holiday concludes that “[t]he holiday, which has been celebrated in California continuously since 1863, is virtually ignored in Mexico.”¹

What: American Cancer Society Relay for Life

There are a few things on the ACS front:

1. The ACS is still selling business card-size ads for their programs. The ads are $25 each. Contact email hidden; JavaScript is required if you or your business wishes to purchase one and support the American Cancer Society.

2. If you want, you can join our team by visiting the Relay for Life website.

3. The Relay for Life event is on June 5 at the NEA District Fairgrounds. The theme this year is “Million Dollar Relay”. Teams are encouraged to base their involvement around a game show type format.
